Same thing in Swedish…
Are you a passionate 2D artist looking to gain hands-on experience in the game industry? I’m an indie developer looking for a 2D Artist Intern to join me in bringing a new narrative-driven game to life. The position is based in central Stockholm (physically I work from Game Town – a beautiful coworking space for small game studios), but remote work is also an option.
About Warm Kitten
Warm Kitten is a tiny (but super passionate!) independent game studio making narrative games such as Justin Wack. This internship offers the opportunity to shape the visual style of a new narrative game and work closely with me throughout the creative process.
About The Game
The game I’m currently working on is a narrative, mainly dialogue-driven point and click adventure game about robots on an island – at night… A playable demo (using my own placeholder drawings) is nearing completion. Care has been taken to keep the number of background scenes as small as possible to tell the story. The art style for the demo is up to you and me! It could be something fairly detailed or heavily stylized as long as the tone matches the mystical mood of the story.
What You’ll Do
- Create 2D backgrounds that enhance the game’s atmosphere and storytelling.
- Design 2D characters, from concept sketches to final assets.
- Take an active role in defining the game’s artistic direction.
- Work closely with me to bring the game’s vision to life.
Who You Are
- A student or recent graduate in Game Art, Illustration, or a related field.
- Proficient in Photoshop or similar digital painting software.
- Passionate about narrative games and visual storytelling.
- Comfortable working independently and making creative decisions.
What’s in It for You?
- A chance to have a major creative impact on a real game project.
- Flexible work arrangements (on-site in Stockholm or remote).
- A supportive and creative environment where your ideas truly matter.
